One of the major factors involved in any presentation of oneself to the world is the degree of genuineness one decides to place before ones foot steps. There is nothing new to any of this in the manner of a successful individual and certainly there remain a litany of reasons that promote the personal practice of being genuine. This all yearns for the next question that this author is certain is smacking at the edge of everyone's thoughts.

How about being genuine with oneself however?

Is there any better reason for presenting oneself in a genuine way than to first be genuine with you?

Yes, most come out with the immediate reaction of, "of course not!"

If the thoughts are truly laid out in a genuine sense however, it might be a surprising thing to watch should it be possible to view oneself throughout any typical day, in due course through any day's typical happenings, chores and events. We all wear outer masks of some type to be sure; it's in the chemistry of survival in a very happening and oftentimes a very hostile world. Without the ability to mask ones angry, bitter, or other feelings in certain times and environments we would all be existing in a very different world. The reality however is that all too often people also tend to turn their masks inward as well as flashing them to the outside world and this is when the masks of the false self blunt the power and the spirit of the genuineness that exists within each of us.

This is the way of the world today in many ways and it's unfortunate that such a state of being has become a requirement for many forms of individual survival. The startling fact of the matter is that the most sensible conclusions that form from a natural state of self-awareness both begin and always will end with ones ability to recognize and habituate a state of genuineness.

This is when self-creation peaks to its greatest potential!

This is when we are as spiritual beings most in-line with the Great Spirit!

This is when we as individuals, are truly we as well as me!

It doesn't have to remain a state of permanency you know, acting and attempting to remedy the ills of the world in a way of meeting ones needs of self-sufficiency! The ways of the world are those that too many times teach to be in certain ways, to act in certain ways and to conduct oneself at certain times in certain ways that may in many cases be diametrically opposed to how one is feeling and existing at some time. For the most cases this is called acting socially in a certain way, and yes, much of ones success in an economic and a social way are dependent upon these masks.

In spiritual ways however, to turn the mask inward, is to move diametrically opposed to the spirit not only of the self, but of the Great Spirit as well and to move and exist in such ways, sets oneself into a mode of unrealistic expectations and a mode of falsehood where little is aligned in any sense of spiritual geometry of the soul.

Think for a moment of the last time you had to endure some great social function, or perhaps some office function where your presence was the last thing you truly wanted at that point in time.

Think of the stress that you felt throughout that experience, and of the strain it certainly put onto your nerves.

How did you feel when you finally got home?

How did it make you feel emotionally?

How did it make you feel physically?

These are the expected questions that usually come up from such a ponder.

The first question that enters this author's mind however is, "how did it make you feel spiritually?"

That is right, spiritually!

In such a time do you think that you were acting at your peak, to the maximum of your being? Did you feel like you couldn't get any better, or as if your creativity and inner-genuine state of being couldn't become any greater?

The answer to these when honesty wins out over pride and ego is a firm, "NO, of course not, but I had to!"

The various reasons that we all use to convince ourselves that we "need" to act in ways that promote ourselves as who and what we are not instead of using the more powerful ways of who and what we truly are could fill a library of theory itself.

The largest reason to begin to act and to truly "be" in accordance with whom and what we are instead of turning the masks of falsehood toward ourselves is the most simple of all.

We all are at our greatest when we simply "be" who we are and when we seek to become who we know full well we have always intended ourselves to become.

We all are at our intimate best when we seek to align ourselves inwardly with a state of genuineness instead of with a state of intimate falsehood.

We all are at our peak of being when we are just, "me", instead of seeking a state of another in some way.

If you doubt this, think of some of the souls walking this earth who you most admire for both their accomplishments as well as their presentations to others.

In many ways this author would be willing to bet that what you saw was in ways, what "is" truly there and not what others just "expected" to be there.

When one is truly being genuine with oneself, why flash a mask to others?

It's a most unnecessary way of being, and an unbelievably unproductive way of inducing stress onto oneself in soulful ways and in spiritual ways if not also in physical ways.

There are many lines, phrases, and parables throughout the ages of history that describe and attempt to bring awareness to the need of genuineness but one rises to the forefront for this author in this genre of spiritual thought.

"Render unto Caesar that which is Caesars and render unto God that which is Gods."

Think of the effects and the reasons that one sends forth a false sense of the self, to where and why such a state of being is projected both outwardly and inwardly. Now think of the reasons for and who best benefits from the same?

Now think of the effects and the reasons one would best remain truly genuine with both oneself and with ones dealings with others, and in the end, who benefits?

If in fact one agrees with the postulate that the soulful self is in the purest of forms in union with the Great Spirit, then it can be asked: is a state of true inner genuineness rendering unto oneself that which is true to oneself and is it rendering unto the world that which one always intended to begin with?

Where is Caesar in all of this and where is God and where does that invisible line that frequently divides the two exist or should it exist at all in a soulful sense?

Think about it...
