"Be what you intend to be, and that intent will lead to the path, regardless of your own inclinations or habits!" - WD Allan
I had an interesting detailed discussion recently where I had restated the personal imperatives behind our own "meaning" to a good friend and of the power of our own creation and how we draw to ourselves our purpose and the meaning to our lives. The belief that we do not spend time worrying about what others might think about us sometimes seems as an all too convenient platitude to life, but when placed into deeper thought, the most critical of self-definitions "are within the fulfillment of the fullest pursuits of our heart".
This gets right to the core of Spirituality!!
What we make of ourselves throughout our lives is in large part dependent upon the choices we make, the paths we choose and to which path we dedicate the maximum amount of our time and to where we focus those creative energies that produce the experiences of our lives.
How we define our path and where we place our footsteps tends to be an ever changing course as our days move along. Many use this as an indicator that eventually one "has to" choose one path over all of the others, and eventually one of the many experiences we have along the course of our days, becomes the chosen path through which many tender the remainder of their existence in this life. With all due respect to everyone's lifestyles and of the ways that people choose to live their lives, sometimes there comes a time when the usual fare of ones existence simply doesn't serve any longer and before one knows it, other ways of thinking about existence begin to cross over the horizon and towards the awareness.
Often, people run from such revelations believing themselves not befitting of any just change in their lives. Others simply take the tack of adopting some small measure of a bit of a growing awareness that starts to steer them onto other paths and into other prospective responsibilities, while others yet still, for some reason of the soul and the spirit open themselves up, wide and complete to that awareness and they begin to envision a complete shifting of their conscious self from one way of life and onward into another
In such times of revelation, the way we all define ourselves is precisely related to how we will choose to move forward. The unfortunate happening is when there is a vast and an open awareness that for some reason never experiences any further growth. In all things we must eventually choose for ourselves the way we will think of our own lives, the ways we choose to view the lives of others and to how we relate our own existence in this universe as a perspective of all of what we understand.
When we open ourselves up to our own unfolding possibilities of existence these perspectives can either define our experiences or not, according to what we wish to draw into our lives. This awareness of being can and does for many become their manifested destiny by which people unfold their own paths. Here is where each person's individual intent works with that great engine of creation in the universe to bring states of being into each person's individual state of being. This is one way of defining and explaining the law of attraction in ones life, though that is only one diverse way of exhibiting its action in the perspectives of existence.
The way we view ourselves is the key and always will be to what we draw to ourselves and to how we will inevitably choose to move forward. I can recall someone I knew who at one point in time came to the realization that she wasn't at all happy in the profession she was working in. She related to me that over the years she had grown less and less fulfilled and more and more stressed over the entire experience, and it was starting to have detrimental effects on both her mental health, her marriage, her family life and even on her overall physical health. "Why not make a change then" I asked her? "If what you are doing and have been doing in your professional life over the years has become that impacting upon your life, would you want to begin to steer a different course" I asked her?
The response was as expected. She stated that she had too much responsibility to her family and to many commitments that would keep her from making any such a vast change in her life now and that she would have to live with the choices she had made. I never did hear about the ongoing impact of her continuing decision to stay her course instead of making any changes. The meaning however in this one instance depicted one of many possibilities in drawing along one course of being through the very long and winding pathway that is life, choosing to remain on this course while consciously understanding that such a course is having sure effects upon ones life. This is one manner of creating the intent of the thoughtfulness of ones life and drawing it into a lifelong dedication for one particular course. Some might view this as a dedication to an admirable supplication to the "realities" of life, that everyone eventually has to simply take the bads along with their goods, and this is just how life was.
Others however come to understand in their experience that life isn't some linear highway that leads from birth to death and where one exit was taken in the past, the current road must be the only road travelled. Some individuals come to recognize, usually after some pain and many mistakes along their way that one does have the creative power of their own experience of their existence to make certain and sure alternate choices with their lives and these choices are as much an intent for the experience of existence as is the sure and steady single-minded pathway that remains as it always has been for some others. There is nothing morally implied in either choice, for in any way of being, there is simply one way of experiencing and other ways of experiencing and both serve in their own ways quite well.
These other people who come to both recognize and choose to alter their personal ways of pursuing another path in their lives come to "connect" to the theorem that is innate in each and every one of us as a function of our existence. It is that if one simply begins to "BE" in some manner of existence, in any way, that eventually once one spends enough time in the articulations of "BE-ING" in that way, the virtual and literal path to this way of being will unfold before you sometimes in ways that cannot be consciously comprehended.
Where this becomes an accepted quality to the fabric of existence, then it becomes a doorway into many various experiences of life and onward into many different ways of being. If you doubt this in any way, talk to someone who has seemingly made complete and vast changes in his or her life and ask him or her what precipitated such changes?
You might get the usual fare of "it was time for a change" or "I was forced into this" for one reason or another. You might also receive quite eye-opening dissertations on the reasons that some chose to move into other ways of being and I would be willing to wager a latte coffee that in every single case of a vast life experience change of such a type, that there was an inner-confidence, an inner-vision of a "possibility-personality" that opened up the doors of a potential state of being to one of those people. When they had been faced with the need for, or faced with the potentials for some major change that would bring about great and vast alterations to the experience of their life, there was some inner voice of confidence that spoke those words of support to them that eventually led to ones pursuing footsteps in whatever be their direction. Those messages we have all heard of course from some of the more popular "possibility thinkers" of the world, and from the many motivational speakers who drive their messages of an altered state of being to others. They all provide the creative energies of creative change to come into being and it is these same messages of creative being that some draw into their conscious being from within themselves.
Once the intent was put forth, the path began to unfold. Once the intent was decided upon and that decision became a true inner-belief of being, the appropriate path would continue to unfold as it was intended to.
People can and do bring about the changes to their own lives regardless of their own inclinations or to the incidental detriment of their own sometimes self-inducing anti-creative habits.
You can draw to you the pathways that began with your intents!
You already know what is within you, simply make it your intent to let it "BE"!
As Always,
WD
