The Symptoms of Spiritual Awakening
By Tammie Bowden, Dark Moon Psychics
*Body aches and pains, especially in the neck, shoulder and back.... Some say this is due to changes in our DNA levels. *A feeling of deep inner sadness for no apparent reason.... This results from releasing old ways, thought patterns, behaviors. *Crying for no apparent reason.... Crying helps us to release old energies. *Sudden change in job or career.... this is very common. As we change, our priorities change, along with our yearnings and our goals.

Okay, most have a bottom line limit to their imaginations and in the limits of life, there are many flexible boundaries. None however that can truly exhibit those boundaries that surround each living and in fact, everything in all of existence. Suffice it to say that for the sake of this rather flexible discussion, I’ll be in reference to the aura’s or the energy states that we all exhibit in all of our waking and some, not-so-waking moments of our days and our collective nights.
Its been long purported that the aura is the emanation of a field of energy that surrounds the body and can be visually perceived by some, energetically perceived by others and discerned for their quality and their “flavor” by others. All seem to be rather enticing ideals put out there by motivated souls who desire nothing more than an increased understanding by everyone. What also results from such magnanimity on the part of soulful individuals however is an increased level of awareness on the part of all of this and the effects that such awareness tends to bring right along with it.

The art of letting the people and creatures and world around me be who and what they are. The ability to realize that as much as you may need something to be one way, it may not be that way for a reason, possibly a good reason for someone else. The ability to realize you can't always have things the way you need them, or to put it bluntly, not getting things your way.... (stomp your foot, it feels better to let it out...)
Let nature and time and the world take its course and by allowing the world to be what it is, we can hopefully have a positive effect on the energies and people we come into contact with.

I have been schooled/trained/attuned in the Usui Ryoho Reiki tradition of therapeutic healing, and have acquired the distinction of Master/Teacher. Along the path, I have met people of various schools of thought that leads back to a common root.
The common belief is that Usui Sensei's knowledge, vibration, energy... call it what you will, is passed on through the act of an attunement, the act of tuning one in to the vibration necessary to facilitate and/or enact healing energies.
I have noticed, as many likely have, that there are myriad versions and schools of Reiki, all basically teaching the same information, some with perhaps a personalized twist on them (preference of the "creator" of the system, no doubt), some with wonderful, mystical and mysterious names, harkening to ancient and cryptic times, some very basic and how-to. And this is wonderful, the fact that the energy is getting out there is very important.

Science Measures the Human Energy Field
Source: Reiki.org
Energy is a theme that permeates many areas of complementary health care, including Reiki. For historic and emotional reasons, two key words have not been mentionable in polite academic research society: "energy" and "touch." Hence it is not surprising that Reiki therapy has been neglected by mainstream biomedical science.
This picture is changing rapidly because of exciting research from around the world. The tale of how concepts of "healing energy" have swung from suspicion and ridicule to respectability is one of the most fascinating and clinically significant stories that can be told.
As in many other areas of investigation, what we were absolutely certain about 20 years ago has changed dramatically. For example, in a few decades scientists have gone from a conviction that there is no such thing as an energy field around the human body, to an absolute certainty that it exists. Moreover, we have begun to understand the roles of energy fields in health and disease. Most people are simply not aware of this research, and persist in the attitude that there is no logical basis for energy healing.
